Have you been using a trail of Azure and configured Azure Recovery Services on it? Then you forgot to switch the subscription to Pay-As-You-Go which means your backup fails?
If you are using Azure Backup on a Windows Server and you are seeing the following error, even after you’ve renewed the subscription:
Backup failed because your Microsoft Azure subscription has expired
This is an easy fix but to be honest it’s not a obvious one. You need to open up Azure Backup on the server and click on “Register Server”. You’d think that doing this will create a new instance in Azure Recovery Services” but panic not, it doesn’t. It will align the server back up with the Azure Recovery Services and backups will continue as they did before. All the historical backups are maintained and can be recovered from.
